French, circa fourth quarter 18th century. Matched pair of Louis XVI walnut carved fauteuils en cabriolet each with oval backrest surmounted with leafy carved cresting over scrolled arms and over-upholstered bowfront seat, raised on turned, tapered and stop fluted legs headed with patera blocks. The padded back and seat covered in a geometric burgundy and green upholstery. Approximate height 38.5", width 24" (arm to arm), seat depth 18.5", seat height 18".
