English and Dutch Schools, 16th/17th Century Style Six Miniature Portraits of Men, Most in Black with Rectangular Linen Collars, One in Red Assumed to be Cardinal Wolsey Unsigned. Five oil on copper, one oil on wood, sizes to 3 3/4 x 3 3/4 in. (19.5 x 19.5 cm), two framed, four unframed. Condition: Paint losses, abrasions, fine craquelure, one with a hole drilled at u.c. edge, one labeled on the back as being the portrait of a Magistrate and with the name "Heldewier." Provenance: The estate of George Way. Estimate $300-500 Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
