Condition: Lined, craquelure, surface grime. Provenance: A New York estate. N.B. The inscription reads: "The following inscription appears on/The reverse of the original canvass [sic]:/Thomas Rensnick/.../Study from/Milton, MASS./P. Emil Carlsen." Estimate $6,000-8,000 Framed dimensions are 33 x 26 x 1 1/2 in. Small dots of retouch to upper center in the clouds. Overall craquelure, but more noticeable in the blue sky. Shrinkles (craquelure with wrinkling) along the bottom edge. The signature and inscription along the bottom of the front of the canvas are very faint and in a very dark area, so they were difficult to photograph.
