Jon Corbino (American, 1905-1964) Circus Signed "Corbino" l. r., titled on an unattributed label affixed to the back of the frame, inscribed "Jon Corbino/5 Marmion Way/Rockport, Mass" on the reverse, signed or inscribed "Corbino" in two places on the back of the frame, with an ink stamp from Christie's applied in two places on the back of the frame. Oil and metallic leaf on board, 24 1/4 x 30 in. (61.6 x 76.2 cm), in a frame by the artist. Condition: Scattered abrasions and small pigment losses, scattered areas of craquelure (including horizontal lines of craquelure that may correspond to cracks in the support). Estimate $4,000-6,000 Additionally inscribed "Houses in Moonlight" on the reverse, and "NYAA6" on the back of the frame. Frame dimensions: 31 1/4 x 37 1/4 x 1 1/2 in.
