George Grosz (German/American, 1893-1959) Wellfleet Signed, dated, and titled "GROSZ/40/... " l.l., inscribed indistinctly "29..." on the reverse. Watercolor, gouache, and ink on paper, 13 9/16 x 16 1/2 in. (34.5 x 42.0 cm), matted, unframed. Condition: Sketchbook paper with perforated right edge, toning, rippling, tack holes u.c., l.l., and l.r., small tear l.l., scattered small nicks to edges, small dog-ear creases to corners, scattered minor creases, tape remnants near upper corners on the reverse. N.B. Ralph Jentsch has reviewed the work and confirmed that it is an original by George Grosz. It will be included in the forthcoming catalogue raisonné of works on paper by Grosz.
