After Pablo Picasso (Spanish, 1881-1973) Guitare et partition sur guéridon, from the series Pablo Picasso. Dix Pochoirs, 1920, edition of 100, published by Éditions Galerie Rosenberg, Paris. Numbered and signed "15/100 Picasso" in pencil l.l. Color pochoir on laid paper, image size 11 x 8 1/8 in. (27.8 x 20.5 cm), unmatted, unframed. Condition: Margins approximately 3/8 inches, gentle toning to sheet, staining (more visible on verso), pencil annotations to verso. Provenance: Inherited from Davis Pratt, former Associate Curator of Photographs at the Fogg Art Museum, Cambridge, Massachusetts. N.B. This composition reproduces a gouache painted in 1920 (see Zervos, IV.88). The Galerie Rosenberg, owned by the influential dealer Paul Rosenberg, was just up the street (the Rue la Boétie) from where Picasso and his then wife Olga lived in Paris in the late 1910s and early 1920s. Rosenberg and Picasso had a close working relationship and friendship. Estimate $8,000-12,000 The lower margin is slightly larger than 3/4 inches. Old Japan paper hinges to upper corners on verso.
