Finely rendered silk embroidery textile panel depicting an Old Testament Biblical story from the book of Genesis--figural scene showing a sleeping Jacob portrayed as Charles II at base of ladder with winged angels ascending, radiating sun in upper left corner, trees and foliate throughout. Framed approximately 13.5" x 15.5". Provenance: Hobart House (Malcolm Stearns, Jr.), Haddam, Connecticut whereby acquired by the Estate of Dr. Woody and Mrs. Honor Cobbs, Atlanta, Georgia in November of 1979.
