Wedgwood Black Basalt Brainstone Vase and Cover, England, 19th century, the oval swan-handled vase with vermicular pattern, a Medusa mask below, all mounted on the backs of two winged sphinxes set on a raised rectangular base, impressed mark, ht. 14 1/2, lg. 12 3/8 in.
