English Violin, Jacob Fendt, London, 1842, inscribed internally Made By Jacob Fendt/London 1842, bearing the catalog number 8128, length of back 355 mm, with case. Estimate $12,000-18,000 In good condition. Repaired top cracks and restorations including next to sound post, treble wing, saddle, both sides of lower bout, upper corners, treble shoulder, reglued top center seam, minor patches and edge replacement, top edge doubled and ribs heightened. Neck reset, shimmed, and ribs at upper block repaired. Minor crack to upper back at treble side of button. Repair to back of pegbox at E peg.
