Frederick Oakes Sylvester (American, 1869-1915) The Meadow Path Signed and dated "Sylvester/-1912" l. l. Oil on canvas, 36 1/4 x 40 1/4 in. (91.8 x 101.9 cm), framed. Condition: Lined, wear to edges. Provenance: Acquired by the current owner from the estate of Bettina Ann Brumbaugh (1930-2020), who's husband Phillip Sloan Brumbaugh (d. 1996) had acquired the work while living in St. Louis. N.B. This work has been submitted to the ongoing catalogue raisonné project at the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Estimate $15,000-25,000 Framed dimensions: 45 1/2 x 50 in. New stretcher, no other condition issues to report. Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
