Abstract Sculpture Attributed to George Jenkings (British, 20th Century), Florida, late 20th century, black marble and steel, possibly depicting a woman standing in profile, accompanied by a George Jenkings exhibition catalog from the Norton Gallery and School of Art, 1971, ht. 18, wd. 5 3/4, dp. 5 1/4 in. Note: George Jenkings settled in the USA in 1922 and trained at the Art Students League in New York. He subsequently embarked on a three-year collaboration with the Hispanic American sculptor José de Creeft before settling in Florida, where he taught painting in Palm Beach. Estimate $200-300 Items may have wear and tear, imperfections, or the effects of aging.
