Model 1861 Contract Watertown Rifle Musket, c. 1864, .58 caliber, walnut stock with steel fittings, lock marked "U.S./WATERTOWN" in front of the cock, dated "1864" on the tail, breech marked "1864" on the top flat, and on the side "V/P" over an eagle, barrel lg. 40, overall lg. 56 in. Estimate $1,500-2,000 1861 contract with the 1863 modifications, stock has a few dings and nicks, the hammer has some spotting, the lock functions properly, and the bore is crisp and bright.
