Classical-style Shell-decorated and Red-painted Sofa, New Brunswick, probably early 20th century, the shaped back and frame trimmed with rope, the crest centering a painted oval with three-masted vessel, the seat lined with netting, and the back, arms, front rail, and feet intricately set with mussel, razor clam, scallop, cockle, quahog, and snail shells, as well as pottery shards and starfish, ht. 35 1/2, wd. 76, seat ht. 16 1/2 in.
