Large double-page folio woodcut map printed on laid paper, with typographical text above, xylographic text within the confines of the map itself, and seven small woodcuts depicting monstrous people along the left vertical margin; the map from a German-language copy of Schedel's Liber Chronicarum , or Das Buch der Croniken und Geschichten , popularly known as The Nuremberg Chronicle , a very early world map; matted and framed, repaired tear from top margin entering a portion of the top of the map, expertly repaired from the verso, some slight spotting, thumbing, 23 1/2 x 16 3/4 in. sheet.
