limited edition buckle created for the 70th Anniversary of the filming of the Red River movie. Howard W. Hawks, the producer of the movie, purchased three Red River D buckles as gifts for himself, John Wayne, and Montgomery Clift. As a sign of friendship, John Wayne traded the buckle with his initials on it with Howard Hawks. John Wayne can be seen wearing this buckle in many of his movies. Signed 100th Anniversary Limited Edition, with John Wayne signature, and with maker's mark Edward H. Bohlon Hollywood CA, #002/250 and stamped sterling. Height 2 1/4 x width 3 1/2 inches.
