18th century the vertical rectangular mirror plate surmounted by an openwork crest worked to show birds among foliate scrolls. Height 44 x width 24 inches. Provenance: Steve Tipton Antiquarian, Louisville, Kentucky In decent, stable condition overall. Break to the openwork foliate scroll crest; detached segment is recovered. Scattered areas of surface loss, frets and minor chips to the giltwood frame consistent with age. Repaired crack to a segment of the foliate scroll crest flanking the central birds on their proper-left sides.
