Edward Weston (American, 1886-1958) Dunes, Oceano , 1936, printed later by Cole Weston. Stamped "NEGATIVE/BY/EDWARD WESTON/PRINT/BY" in black ink and signed "Cole Weston" in pencil on the reverse of the mount at center, titled and dated in pencil on the reverse of the mount u.r. Gelatin silver print mounted to board, image/sheet size 7 3/8 x 9 1/4 in. (18.7 x 23.5 cm), framed. Condition: Minor 1/4-inch crease c.l., faint scattered fox marks on the mount. Provenance: Acquired from Kiva Gallery, Boston, 1977; to a private Rhode Island collection. N.B. A photocopy of the original 1977 receipt from Kiva Gallery accompanies the lot.
