Maker's Mark Obscured, Dublin, 1771 the body having crane, berry, floral and foliate openwork decoration with an engraved cartouche. marked on rim 18 ozt 3 dwts Diameter 7 7/8 inches. Property from the Estate of Nadine P. Martens, Glen Ellyn, Illinois Overall good, stable condition. Light to moderate surface scratching consistent with polishing and use. Heavier areas of surface scratching along underside consistent with shelfwear. Foot bent slightly out of round. Seam visible on interior. Engraved crest possibly later. Inscription engraved on rim appears contemporary to production of stand, and reads "Abraham Nixon: of Manny Co. Wexford / Married on 21st August 1775 / Elizabeth Izod." Lacking glass liner.
