Widdicomb Furniture Co. (American, founded 1875), designed by Mario Buatta, fourth quarter 20th century. A Chinese Chippendale style drop leaf table having a rectangular top and two drop leaves decorated with parcel gilt trim and simulated rouge marble, the case with pierced fretwork to all four sides, the front with single drawer over a pair of pierced fret doors opening to a void interior, the whole raised on chamfered square legs terminating on block feet. Interior drawer with oval metal tag signed "Mario Buatta" and stamped "MARIO BUATTA COLLECTION/JOHN WIDDICOMB COMPANY". Approximate height 28.75", width 23.25" (closed), 45.25" (open), depth 29.25".
