Likely Ernst Reinhold Schmidt (German, 1880-1926), first quarter of 20th century. German violin in French style, likely produced by Ernst Reinhold Schmidt under the French name Francois Guillmont as the practice was typical during the time. Stringed musical instrument of standard form with varnished wood body with one piece back. Interior of violin with paper label reading "Francois Guillmont Aix-la-Chapelle". Violin contained in a later case and accompanied with Jules Deschamps (West. Germany) artist rosin in labeled box and bow. Length of violin approximately 23".
