Byron, George Anson (1789-1868) Voyage of H. M.S. Blonde to the Sandwich Islands, in the Years 1824-1825. London: Murray, 1826. First edition, large quarto, illustrated with fifteen plates and maps, bound in full contemporary cloth, scattered foxing, 11 x 8 3/4 in. Byron was charged with his country's mission to return the bodies of King Kamehameha II and Queen Kamamalu to Hawaii. The King and Queen had visited London in 1824, and died of the measles, for which they had no immunity. Provenance: The Estate of David Spinney.
