Washington, George (1732-1799) In Memory of Genl. George Washington and his Lady, Chromolithograph. Baltimore: M.H. Campbell, and E. Sachse & Co., 1859. Chromolithograph depicting Washington's grave with mourners, minor soiling, color is fresh, corners bumped, 16 x 21 in. This memorial plate shows two women and a young man in mourning to the left, with a stone urn on a pedestal to the right decorated with busts of the Washingtons carved in relief. In the center background we can see Mount Vernon, three deer loiter in the right background. Beneath the title, a line states that the lithograph is based on "an original picture painted 1804 in possession of the Washington family."
