Paint-decorated Blanket Chest, Centre County, Pennsylvania, early 19th century, the molded hinged top opens to a well with till, the dovetailed box on flaring French feet, original decoration of overall salmon paint, the top with yellow-painted flowering vines, the front panel painted with the date "1825" with a symmetrical arrangement of geometric rosettes flanked by tulips with additional tulips emanating from urns, bordered by stylized petals, beaded and crosshatched painted lower edge on black-painted flaring feet, (imperfections), ht. 25 3/4, wd. 48, dp. 21 in.
