Franz Iffland (Germany, 1862 - 1935). "Salome", patinated spelter with verdigris finish, signed to back "F. Iffland Paris". Sculpture depicts Salome, the Biblical figure mainly remembered for requesting the head of John the Baptist on a platter, at waist length wearing a crown over braided hair, turning her head over right shoulder, with the decoration of her hair, crown and dress all being patinated. Sculpture mounted to a tiered round white marble plinth. Overall approximately 8.25" tall x 4.5" diameter at base.
