Watercolor Miniature of a Gentleman, Possibly Josiah Lyttleton, probably America, early 19th century, the subject wearing a black jacket, the background painted light gray with flecks of black and red pigment, (old crack with loss at extreme right edge), 2 1/2 x 3 3/8 in. , oval format, in a black lacquer frame and pressed brass thistle hanger. Note: An old label on the backing reads "Josiah Lyttleton."
