Late 19th/Early 20th century. Two matching Chinese Tang style large donkey sculptural floor figures composed of hand carved wood. Each decorative animal sculpture with antiqued and weathered patina with remnants of coppered and gilt finish. Each donkey with teeth exposed gnawing on bit with small saddle and lotus flower accent on back with plant fronds with smaller rosette motif. Donkeys rendered standing on all fours and sculpted in the round with a good understanding of proportions. Apparently unsigned. Height 30.5", length (from nose to tail) 46".
