A striped faille period 19th Century style gown in shades of blue made for Katharine Hepburn in Song of Love (MGM, 1947). The gown has a boned bodice with a high neckline that may have been altered post-production and mutton sleeves and a full skirt. A bias label inscribed "1398 Katharine Hepburn" and an MGM stamp are present. Costume design by Walter Plunkett. Accompanied by a copy of Hollywood Sketchbook: A Century of Costume Illustration, which features a Plunkett sketch from The Brooklyn Museum Libraries of Hepburn in a similar gown misattributed as being from The Sea of Grass (MGM, 1947).
