French, 19th Century. Set of 8 French Country style walnut ladderback dining chairs comprised of 2 arm and 6 side chairs. The armchairs with shell carved cresting over shaped ladderbacks, the side chairs with foliate cresting, all with rush seats and scrolled aprons centered with foliage and shell on front cabriole legs carved and the knee and terminating in scrolled toes, united to the back legs with turned stretchers. Armchair height 41.25", width 22" (arm to arm), seat depth 19", seat height 18". Side chairs height 38.5", width 17.25", seat depth15", seat height 17".
