Handpainted Figural Enameled Copper Table Snuff Box, probably England, mid-18th century, the rectangular box depicting a gentleman offering a lady a rose in a garden with a dog and a manor in the distance, the lower box with floral sprig motifs on a white ground, (minor wear), ht. 1 5/8, wd. 3 3/4, dp. 3 1/8 in. Note: Accompanying the box is a note reading: "Battersea; Circa 1753 This box belonged to Kitty Proctor, wife of Colonel Proctor on Geo. Washington's staff."
