Moses Connor, Jr. (American, active 1800-1832) Birth Record of "Mary Hoyt Born May 6, 1807," watercolor and ink on paper, decorated with two birds in ovals on the front and signed on the reverse "Henniker May 7, 1829 by Moses Connor"; the ovals that center birds in cream, beige and light brown are flanked by a patterned outline and column-like lines, (minor staining), ht. 9 x 7 in., unframed. Literature: By Good Hands, New Hampshire Folk Art Exhibition, Currier Gallery of Art, Manchester, New Hampshire, 1989, includes a very similar birth record, plate 33. Note: Moses Connor, jr. was born in Wolfeboro, New Hamshire and was a teacher there begining in 1808.
