Three Pair of Coin Silver Spectacles by Early American Makers, Pierce with pin-in-slot adjustable sides and tear-shaped finials, c. 1840s Ammidown + 2.50 both eyes and 30 ; c. 1820 McAllister - Philada with C bridge, + 1.25 both eyes and 27 , Pierce with a C Bridge, + 4.50 on the right and + 4.75 on the left. Note: Ammidown was an originator of American Optical. McAllister is considered one of the fathers of opticianary in the U.S., while Pierce was a prolific early optician in Boston.
