Needlework Memorial Sampler, "Amanda Beard was born in Nelson (New Hampshire) June 26 1810," sawtooth and leafy vine borders surround the memorial worked in silk threads on a linen ground, depicting three alphabet panels above signature lettering, over a depiction of a gravestone inscribed "My Beloved Mother Died Dec. 7, 1822 at 40 years/We shall meet in Heaven," flanked by two weeping willow trees, (toning, fading), 16 1/2 x 16 1/2 in., in a molded curly maple frame.
