Amber Glass Whiskey Bottle, Whitney Glass Works, Glassboro, New Jersey, c. 1850, flattened body with long neck and pouring spout on lip, applied solid scroll handle, embossed lettering 'WHARTON'S WHISKEY 1850. CHESTNUT GROVE," the base with raised lettering "WHITNEY GLASS WORKS GLASSBORO NJ," (polished rim chips), ht. 10 1/8 in. Note: Harmony Glass Works organized in 1813. In 1824 it merged with Olive Glass Works which later became the Whitney Glassworks which produced many well-known historical flasks.
