Fancy Painted Tall Case Clock, Silas Hoadley, Plymouth, Connecticut, c. 1825, the hood with cutout fretwork joining ball finials, above the arched cornice molding and glazed tombstone door opening to a wood polychrome and gilt floral-decorated dial with seconds hand, inscribed "S. HOADLEY PLYMOUTH", above an eagle and banner, with wooden weight-driven movement, all flanked by freestanding columns, the waist door flanked by reeded quarter-columns, all on base with cutout feet, original grain painted surface imitating exotic wood with inlaid stringing, (imperfections), ht. 79 1/2 in. craquelure to paint, minor paint loss to dial.
