French, 19th century. French provincial single door armoire composed of fruitwood with flat and extending cornice above hand carved and polychromed frieze with folk art motif of two birds at center with beaks touching surrounded by flowers above above heavy cartouche paneled door that opens to storage within (with one shelf, slats for additional shelves or adjustment of shelf therein) above shaped apron with similar folk art carved and polychromed ornament of a vase with flowers. Armoire with square legs at back, squat cabriole legs at front. Approximate height 84.5", width 45", depth 28.5".
