Ivory and Gold Memorial Locket, America, c. 1787, watercolor on ivory painted en grisaille depicting a young woman and two children in a landscape beside an applied ivory urn-topped monument inscribed "NO TIME HIS DEAR REMEMBRANCE CAN REMOVE" over the initials "J.T." with gold and bead accents, the reverse engraved James Tyson ob't 19 Jan'y 1787 Aet. 48," within an engraved shield, 2 1/4 x 1 7/8 in., mounted in a oval gold brooch pendant frame. Condition: Good, a few loose beads.
