Surveyor's Vernier Compass with Folding Sights, by W. & L.E. Gurley , Troy, New York, dark lacquered brass, with 4-inch dia. silvered dial with fleur-de-lis at North, inside vernier operated from rim, needle ring divided 0-90° in four quadrants, blued-steel needle with brass clamp, cap, baluster-shaped limb with outkeeper, two vials (missing glass) and twin hinged screw-on sights, ht. 10 3/4 in., (glass chipped), on a four-screw leveling base.
