Manner of Jusepe de Ribera (Spanish, 1591-1652) Saint Peter Unsigned, identified in information affixed to the frame. Oil on canvas, 25 x 20 in. (63.3 x 50.8 cm), in a period style Dutch frame. Condition: Lined, retouched, varnish inconsistencies, surface grime, craquelure with areas of alligatoring and separating. Provenance: Ex-collection of Alfredo Chavero, Presidente del Congresso de la Union, through to Martin Canero, Calle de Mesones, Mexico, to Morris Gray, 1899, all according to a label on the reverse.
