Liverpool Creamware Black Transfer Printed Masonry Jug, England, c. 1800, large prints to either side with Masonic motifs each signed Kennedy, another circular cartouche below the spout titled "Holiness to the Lord", ht. 9 3/4 in. Note: James Kennedy is listed as an engraver in Burslem. Heavy wear to glaze along top rim; black trim line to top, foot and handle with heavy flaking; very shallow 1/4" chip to the side of the spout; two 1" chips under footrim; horizontal band of glaze scratching to belly of the jug; title removed to front of jug; spider hairline to a lower side (below transfers); 1 1/2" area of staining to lower body (below transfers); 3" hairline under footrim.
