Two Carved and Painted Wooden Owl Figures by Enoch Benner, Phippsburg, Maine, late 19th century, the figures with wire legs and painted feet perched on a branch segment, further mounted on another branch segment and wooden base, (minor imperfections), overall ht. 7 7/8, wd. 6 1/2 in. Note: Enoch B. Benner (1834-1904) was a fisherman born in Phippsburg, Maine. He was married in 1859 and had two daughters and two sons, and died in Port Clyde, Maine. Small repair to one tuft of one owl, the wire legs protruding a little from the branch they are attached to.
