Henry Leland (American, 1850-1877) Byzantine Courtyard in Venice Unsigned, identified in inscriptions on two labels (including one partial exhibition label dated 1878) affixed to the reverse. Oil on canvas, 23 3/4 x 17 3/4 in. (60.3 x 45.1 cm), framed. Condition: Partially strip lined, restretched, patch reinforcement, l.c., scattered retouch. Strip lined along bottom edge, retouch along bottom edge in area of strip lining (approx 9 in. length), varnish inconsistencies.
