Arts and Crafts Hand Painted Porcelain Plaque of Mary and Baby Jesus, dated 1913, the round Limoges plaque signed to back L. Vance Phillips, depicting an interior scene of Mary overlooking her baby sleeping in a cradle, in the company of three angels bearing lily and rose stems, in giltwood frame, sight size 17 7/8 in. Note: L. Vance Phillips was a skilled porcelain painter and art educator during the Arts & Crafts movement, and in 1896 published a seminal book on the subject entitled The Book of the China Painter .
