French, fourth quarter 20th century. Matched pair of French Empire style gilt bronze candlesticks or candleholders both with removable candlecup over a foliate and Vitruvian scroll neck and collar, the upper body mounted with a pair of up-scrolled arms centered with classical scene with two robed women, the lower body supported by three slender legs headed with leafy cabochon, each centered by female masks and anthemion terminating on paw feet and tripartite concave platform base. Approximate height 8.5".
