Norwood Hodge MacGilvary (American, 1874-1950) The Artist and His Family, Vermont Reinforced signature "Norwood MacGilvary" l. r. Oil on canvas, 60 1/2 x 66 1/2 in. (153.6 x 168.9 cm), with frame. Condition: Lined, retouch, craquelure. Provenance: The estate of the artist, by descent to his son, Brian D. MacGilvary, through to the present owner. N.B. According to the artist's family the Norwood MacGilvary family spent every summer in the 1920's in Vermont. The Artist and His Family was painted during the summer of 1925.
