Eugen Ciuca (New York, 1913-2005) figural abstract watercolor; signed to bottom right corner; also signed verso as well as titled "Alarme", and featuring artist's address, telephone number, and marked "The Fourth Dimension in the Art"; measures approximately 32-1/2" x 24-3/4" with frame and has a sight image of approximately 22-3/4" x 15-1/4"; in Good overall condition with some wear to frame. Eugen Ciuca, sculptor, painter, engraver, and art critic, was born February 27th, 1913, in Romania. At age six, he created his first sculptures, and in 1938, at age 23, he had his first exhibition. His exhibitions are now a total of 88, 42 of them one-man shows. Work by Mr. Ciuca is in nine museums around the world including the Gerald R. Ford museum. He has done work for the White House and the Vatican, and is considered the founder of art's fourth dimension. Awards and honors include listings in 33 books. He has a PhD in fine art, and was a Professor of Art. He lived in America for a good part of his life and considered himself to be an American artist. Eugen Ciuca died in 2005.
