Amalio Garcia Del Moral (Spanish, 1922-1995) gouache depicting a woman sitting in a chair; signed to top left corner; measures approximately 38-1/2" x 28-1/2" with gilded frame and has a sight image of approximately 28-1/2" x 18-1/2"; in Very Good condition. Amalio Garcia Del Moral, born in Granada in 1922, was a very cultured man and lover of Giralda, the iconic tower of Seville, where he was rooted most of his life. He was a Professor of Drawing and Basis of Form in the School of Fine Arts in Seville from 1961-1984 as well as the President of the National Association of Professors and Higher Fine Arts Schools in 1967. Working in a variety of mediums as well as with a variety of subjects, Moral was particularly fascinated with Andalusian culture and landscapes. Moral was also a poet and author exploring the same themes in his writing as he did in his paintings. Moral's works are housed in numerous museums and private collections throughout the world. He died in Seville in 1995.
