English, late 19th/ early 20th century. A sarcophagus form rosewood tea caddy with later mother of pearl veneer tiles of lozenge and rectangular form to exterior, the box with hinged lid that opens to reveal two interior compartments with parquetry inlaid rosewood lids and white metal turned knobs, and bone or ivory veneer lining edges of lid and inner compartment. Marked to interior locking mechanism with crown form beside "PATENT". Approximately 4.75" tall, 8.625" wide, 5.125" deep.
