Austrian, 19th century. A Biedermeier style cherry stained mahogany and ebonized commode having a rectangular top with molded edge over three long deep drawers decorated with bell shaped stenciled escutcheons and elaborate drawer pulls flanked to both sides by ebonized engaged fluted pilasters headed with gilt metal Corinthian capitals and raised on front ebonized inverted bellflower feet. Approximate height 39.6", width 49.75", depth 24".
