Karges Manufacturing Co (American, founded 1886), contemporary. A Louis XVI style ochre painted fauteuil armchair having a ribbon carved frame with padded rectangular back and padded elbow rests above the overstuffed padded bowfront seat with removable cushion raised on turned, tapered and fluted legs headed with patera blocks. The whole covered in burgundy chenille, the seat down filled. Labeled under the seat with Karges furniture tag. Approximate height 37", width 26" (arm to arm), seat depth 20", seat height 19".
