Attributed to George Brooks Percy Spooner Lillingston (British, 1850-1932). "Shrimp Boats", oil on canvas, apparently unsigned. Painting depicts a cluster of fish and shrimp boats with a dock in the distance to right, with figures hauling buckets of catch overboard to men waiting in row boats, the boat sails twisted back and tied on the frontmost boat, and nets suspended from the masts on two boats in back. Painting with label to verso of frame and stretcher from the Derby Corporation Art Gallery which opened in Derby, UK in 1882. Framed approximately 32" x 44 1/8", unframed 24 1/4" x 36 1/4". Note: alternate spelling for artist's name is Lillington.
